January 2011 Meeting Minutes

Here’s the news from Tuesday’s meeting……

Hopefully everyone knew there was no Mac Meeting in December, as the date was so close to the Holidays.

So this was the first meeting of 2011. I hope all of you made a resolution to keep attending our meetings and let all your Mac user friends know about them too.

The meeting was opened with a question and answer period. If anyone ever needs answers on how to do some type of application on your Mac, IPad, IPhone or such, this is the place to come. There is always someone with the right answer.

Jim Harston was a new comer. He brought us information about a retail service he is getting set up called Recycled Science. Right now he is looking at possible retail space near downtown Spokane to offer computer training for teenagers and seniors. He also hopes to include a Macintosh computer museum as part of the computer history component. He has legacy macs left over for Mac Island and Mac Oasis stores from a decade ago. He is also looking for older software that could be used in the school for training purposes. His temporary office is at 608 W 2nd Ave. Ste. 204. Any help would be appreciated.

Carl Johnson gave a great presentation of setting up and using Numbers, formatting and creating formulas, graphs and charts. With tax season coming up this was great information. We all the features on the Mac, I’m sure we could have spent several hours learning.

Well, that about did it. Please let us know if there are any topics you would like to have presented. See you at the next meeting.

Sincerely, Linda, Secretary
